VISIT THE REGION AROUND MARSALA & TRAPANI: WHAT TO DO IN WEST SICILY?

THE KITE LAB GUIDE TO WEST SICILY

This is our own amateur, subjective, and concise take on Western Sicily.
We’ve personally discovered that there is truly plenty to do in this area — whether you prefer spending your time hiking, being active, exploring food, or simply relaxing. It’s worth taking a look in case of windless days (forecast here).

Most of the suggested places are less than a one-hour drive from the Lo Stagnone kite spot and can be checked as a day or half-day trip.

MUST-SEE PLACES IN WESTERN SICILY:

Three beautiful, rocky islands – Favignana, Lavanzo i Marettimo. Wild, mysterious and seemingly inaccessible.

From a height of 750 meters above sea there is an unbelievable view of the sea, the nearby Egadi Islands, and the city of Trapani.

One of our secret spots. Full relaxation in thermal water surrounded by oleanders and reeds.

Hiking, views, beaches – perfect combination of activity and relaxation.

Our tips to discover the incredible Sicilian capital

The Turkish Stairs is something really worth seeing, when you decide to head south.

The charm of the city is added by numerous tiny wine shops, shops with local products and restaurants with just a few tables on the side walk.

This is where we go at night for a bigger party, here is the restaurant area, here we go for clothes shopping, all ferries we need leave from Trapani port.

Everyone who visits us will remember the ubiquitous view of salt pans.

A pleasant, one and a half hour hike to the summit of Monte Cofano mountain.

Many say that San Vito Lo Capo is one of the most beautiful beaches in Sicily, if not the most beautiful.

Old ghost town, monument visible from a plane window and gloomy, futuristic urban project – all in one place.

ACTIVITIES NEARBY THE KITE SPOT:

For big groups or large families, we suggest you to drive to Alcamo
