PLANE, CAR AND FERRY – HOW TO GO TO LO STAGNONE?
SICILY BY CAR
There are many ways to get to Sicily.
You can choose to go by car and to take a ferry to Palermo somewhere at the Mediterranean coast (for example from Livorno by Grimaldi Lines or from Genoa by GNV lines). This is a good option for those who come in a group or/and for longer (2/3 weeks?), or who travel with animals.
Then you have a car to use in Sicily and believe us, there is a lot to do here – guide to Sicily. In this case you save on car rental and split the cost in the group.
By choosing a car you can always combine your kitesurfing holidays with a road trip. Driving along Italy is true adventure.
We did that!
FLIGHTS TO SICILY
In general plane is the fastest and cheapest option, and of course most chosen.
Close to us there are airports in Trapani (Birgi) and Palermo.
We strongly recommend checking Ryanair flights (to Trapani and Palermo), also Wizzair (to Palermo) and other low cost lines in the first place.
Websites such as Skyscanner can also be helpful.
Trapani airport is 6 km (10 minutes) away from the kite spot.
Palermo airport is 90 km (1 hour) from the kite spot.

basically every airport
If you land in Trapani and don’t plan to rent a car, you have a small, 10 minute transfer to the kitesurfing spot area.
For that you can either grab a taxi from the airport, or just to be sure (it’s a small airport) – you can order a driver (for the same price as taxi, approx 20 euro).
If you’d like to order a driver from the airport to your accommodation, just let us know.
If you land in Palermo and don’t plan to rent a car, you have a 1-hour transfer.
You can either order a driver (the price depends on the number of people, but it’s approx 70 – 100 euro), or take a bus from Palermo Airport to Trapani Airport (Salemi Lines) – the ticket is 9 euros. Keep in mind that on week days there are just 4 buses a day, and on weekends only two, so check your arrival hours with the bus schedule before.
